Around every holiday I try to hype it up by reading new holiday books! Books are always perfect little gifts for cousins, neighbors, and besties too. My son loves taking new books to school to share with his friends too!
Here is our round up for the rest of the year…
Halloween
The Cheerio’s Halloween Play Book: This is just too cute and will give you kids a free pass to play with their food. There are little cutouts in the book to place Cheerios! There is a Christmas version too!
When I first laid eyes on this shirt at Target, it flew into my cart! If you ask any of my friends or hubby, I am the “pumpkin spice queen.” I anxiously await for this time of year and when it’s here…PUMPKIN SPICE EVERYTHING is my jam! I’ve literally tried all things pumpkin flavored and I am here to share my top picks with you because after all, we could all use a little more pumpkin in our lives. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
We’ve all been there…trying to remember the last time we’ve washed our locks! Weather you’re a busy mom or girl on the go, everyone is searching for the perfect dry shampoo. I’ve rounded up our top 5 favorite dry shampoos to help you get through those times.
1. Davines Hair Refresher– this stuff is by far my favorite. Goes on lightly and gives you a fresh showered feel. Smells amazing. You can thank me later!2. Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo– who doesn’t love the smell of aveda products. I love this because its not an aerosol. You just shake and puff it onto the roots of your hair. A little goes a long way with this product and totally worth the $
The easier the DIY project the more likely I am to actually complete it! Seriously all over the distressed jeans for fall, but I can hear my dad saying, “why pay for jeans with holes in them”. Hmmm he might have a point, so I decided to give it a try and it was so easy! (still buying a few for fall too)
I had a pair of jeans in the back of my closet that had a little tear in them so these were perfect!
Wait, how did this just happen baby Brooks is ONE. Its a mix between wanting to cry and doing a happy dance because we are one day closer to no more diapers!
Brooks is a sweet easy going little guy (with the best hair ever) and I had to choose a “classic” theme for him.
Where The Wild Things Are
I am so lucky to have found the best local businesses….Graphic designer, Meghan who creates coordinating invites and thank you cards. My chalkboards always come from my sweet friend Christy’s company, Classy Chic Events.
Happy Saturday everyone! I’ve always love decorating the house for fall and decided to share my tabletop look with you all. To me fall is full of rich vibrant colors. Although my favorite look is the all white look, I tend to stick to more warm colors during this season. Symmetry is key when decorating a long table. I also like mixing colors, textures, and heights of things. I tend to keep my decor low so everyone can see one another when they’re sitting down at the table. Below is my current centerpiece on my dining room table that we will use through Thanksgiving. Enjoy!
Transitioning from summer nail polish can be difficult once fall arrives. Well I am here to help you decide which color you should choose next time you hit the salon for a mani/pedi! Here are some of my favorites I am loving right now.
Essie Master Plan- great polish to add to your “gray” collection. Its perfect for everyday and I love the light gray soft satin finish.
We recently gave our kitchen a face lift and I am loving the finished product! Our home is around 20 years so it needs some TLC. We still have many things we’d like to do, but updating the kitchen was our biggest priority since I am always rarely cooking for everyone (haha). My husband constantly jokes that if he wasn’t around, I’d starve to death.
I knew I wanted to stick with the “theme” of my home (farm house chic) but also keep it simple and light. I love the all white look, but also have two boys so practical is key.
I adore marble countertops, but didn’t want to break the bank so I started to look at comparable options. I needed something a little more durable and kid friendly, especially since these were going in my kitchen and used heavily. I ended up going with quartz countertops in Olympia. It mimics marble and is non-porous so it resists staining. It also requires no maintenance whereas others do. Done and done… I was SOLD!
Next was changing the color of my cabinets. We had a few people quote us and it was going to be around $10,000 for new cabinets. I wasn’t ready to make that commitment so we decided to hire someone to paint them for us for 1/4 of the cost. I am SO happy how they turned out and wouldn’t have changed a thing. I wanted them to be white but not a bright white. I ended up using the color Simply White by Benjamin Moore. We also changed the hardware out which completely changed the look. I found mine on amazon!
Welcome to our world that’s filled with a little style, big messes, and lots of laughs. We are Lindsay and Carley, just two basic super cool moms that want to share our everyday normal with you.
It is still 90 degrees in the midwest, but my heart is screaming for fall. In my mind fall equals cute booties, PSL, bonfire, wine(thats every season), outdoor activities with the kiddos without sweating, and all the scented candles my husband can handle.
I have rounded up my fav booties under $100.00…
When you are a mom on the go comfort is key- and how fast you can run to chase after the kids. I got similar Luckys last year and they are so comfortable.
I am always looking for comfortable shoes for work that can easily be worn with skinnies or a dress…just ordered these MIA Ericka open toe booties and cannot wait for them to arrive
Obsessing over these 1.STATE booties-the cutout, the low heel, the price-add to cart now
You can never go wrong with anything from Sole Society – great quality and style on point every time
Sole Society wins again with this Albany sling backs- the heel is stacked so still great for wearing all day
Qupid– seriously nothing we love more than a great deal and the ease of buying from Amazon. The cutout on these are too cute! These keep selling out from different sellers on Amazon (search for Qupid Geometric Booties)
Would love for you to comment with your favorite bootie brands for comfort and style.
Lindsay & Carley here! We are just a few everyday moms trying to keep it all together. We'll be sharing a bit of our life and hope to make you laugh!
xo!
